The Pyramids
|
Some time around the second century BC, a list was compiled of the Wonders of the Ancient World. This listed was later written about by the Greeks and stored in the Library of Alexandria which was later destroyed along with the library. The final list was compiled during the Middle Ages. Of all the wonders listed, only one can be indisputably and accurately described as it is the only one left in existence. It is the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Located in Cairo, Egypt; the pyramids have been explored, and studied by the greatest archeologists in the world. Scores of debates and arguments have resulted over the origins of the pyramids. Archeologists have tried to determine who built them and why. The standard belief is that ancient Egyptians, at the order of the Pharaohs, built them as icons for displaying the greatness of the Pharaohs and ensure their immortality. There have been many arguments over which Pharaoh built which pyramid as it seems that each Pharaoh had a habit of laying claim to them by placing their mark on them. The most common belief now is that it was Khufu who built the Great Pyramid around 2560 BC as a tomb during his 20 year reign. An Egyptian architect named Imhotep is said to have designed the first pyramid.
The fact that these Stone Age men, not long after the invention of the wheel, were able to create structures that would be hard to duplicate today is hard to believe. The base of the Great Pyramid covers thirteen acres. The entire structure consists of 2.3 million blocks weighing 2.5 tones each with some weighing 50 tons. There are some huge granite blocks inside the pyramid that weight 100 tons and are 46 meters above the ground. The sides of the pyramid face exactly north, south, east and west. The corners are right angles accurate to within 1/20 of a degree. In order for the Egyptians to have built the structure during Khufus reign, a single block would have to have been placed every 5 minutes, 24 hours a day, impossible with todays technology.
The engineering problems aside, the astronomical calculations to build the structure were unbelievable. If you measure the structure using the Hebrew cubit which is 25.025 inches (63.5 cm), the length of each side of the base is 365.2422 cubits, the exact number of days in the solar year, including the extra day each four years. The height of the structure is 232.52 cubits, which if you divide one side of the base by the height, you get 3.14 or pi. The angle of the slope of the sides is 10 to 9. For every 10 feet you ascend, you rise in altitude by 9 feet. If you multiply the altitude of the pyramid by 10 raised to the power of 9, you get 91,840,000 which is the number of miles earth is from the sun. Every 25,827 years, the sideral year (stars) and the equinoctial year (seasons) coincide known as a cycle. If you add up the diagonals of base in inches, you get 25,827 inches. The location of the pyramid is exactly midway between the west coast of Mexico and the east coast of China, the north cape of Norway and the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa on the 30 degrees, both latitude and longitude. Scientists call this the exact center of the world. The builders of the structure not only knew that the world was round, the knew that it was slightly flattened on the top and bottom, that its axis was tilted 23.5 degrees, it rotated on this axis taking 24 hours, that the earth orbited around the sun every 365 days and that the zodiac cycled every twenty six thousands years. They knew all this in 3000 BC even though man believed the world was flat and the sun orbited around it during the middle ages. Where did this knowledge go?
Another curious fact about this incredible knowledge possessed by the ancient Egyptians is that they werent the only ones on the planet with the knowledge. The Mayans of Mexico along with those living in Cambodia and China also had the same knowledge. The truly astounding fact is that the Mayans, in 1800 BC knew the world was round and that the earth revolved around the sun every 365 days but never could figure out how to make a wheel. All four cultures are known for their knowledge in writing, mathematics, and astronomy. The Great Pyramid has four star shafts in it that point to the stars Beta Ursa Minor, Alpha Draconis, Sirius and Zeta Orionis. These stars appear to be related to the Egyptian Gods. The structures in Mexico and Cambodia also have celestial connections to these stars. Did the Mayans and Egyptians worship the same gods? Both had amazing similarities including the fact that their gods demanded human sacrifice. Just recently, pictures of great pyramids have come out of China. China is reported to have over 100 pyramids, some as big as any in Egypt all centered just south of Xian on 30 degrees longitude, the same as the Great Pyramid of Giza. The pyramids in Cambodia are along 18-19 degrees longitude, the same as the pyramids in Mexico. The ground plans for the pyramids in Mexico, Egypt and China match up almost perfectly and if superimposed on a star chart, match up with the constellation Orion.
Did the Egyptians, the Chinese and the Mayans, on opposite ends of the earth develop the same technology at the same time? Perhaps it was developed in an undiscovered earlier civilization that traveled to all three areas. It might even be possible that all three civilizations gained their knowledge from the same god or intelligence. Whoever made the pyramids or for what purpose, one fact is indisputable. The builders were master mathematicians, excellent engineers, expert map makers and excellent astronomers. How was this knowledge gained and how was it lost?
